A survey has revealed that brand extensions, such as roadside assistance, can help build brand loyalty.

Mondial found that 86% of its customers who receive manufacturer branded road-side assistance feel more confident in their brand.

Simon Cook, general manager for automotive at Mondial, says: “In today’s challenging climate, manufacturers need to stand out from the pack by offering quality products.

“This survey proves categorically a specialist roadside assistance service will encourage customer loyalty and retention.”

The survey also found that 76% of those assisted by a Mondial representative, believing they were being assisted by the manufacturer, rated the importance of the brand attending their call higher than the speed of response.

Brand loyalty from customers can lead to increased sales both from customers returning to the marque when purchasing their next vehicle as well as from recommendations made to friends and family, which influence a third of all vehicle-buying decisions.

Mondial provides manufacturer branded roadside assistance through its Motor Assistance programme to a number of marques including Aston Martin, Ford GT, Isuzu, Subaru, Rolls-Royce, Smart and Volkswagen.
