Radford of Stafford and Knights of Newcastle have merged to create the region’s biggest BMW and Mini dealer group.

The resulting Knights Group with dealerships at Pool Dam, Newcastle, and Radford Bank, Stafford, will be a £75m turnover business that will sell more than 3,500 cars a year.

Group operations director David Vickers says the merging of Radford with Knights provides a number of significant customer and business benefits.

“Knights now offers a bigger choice of new cars from stock, a larger allocation of short supply models and a huge stock of more than 250 BMW and Mini approved used cars,” he says.

“The merger also provides fantastic career opportunities for our staff and long-term growth for the group.”

Radford’s outgoing dealer principal Alan Jones, who has owned and operated the business for the past 10 years, will take an active role in the new Knights group, having joined the board of directors immediately on completion of the deal.

Knights of Stafford will move to a five-acre greenfield site where new-build BMW and Mini dealerships are scheduled for completion by early 2007.

Knights of Newcastle will also relocate to an A500 location within a similar timeframe.
