Adonis Construction is celebrating a strong start to 2006 after securing more than £6m-worth of contracts with motor retailers.

Work has started on a £1m refurbishment and extension of Mercedes-Benz of Worcester, part of the Drayton Group. The project, due to be completed in March, will provide extra car parking and double the size of the showroom, which was built for Stirling Motor Group by Adonis Construction nine years ago.

Drayton Group has previously contracted the £40m turnover Midlands-based builder for work on its showrooms in Stafford, Walsall and Wolverhampton.

Other contract wins since the start of the year include a £500,000 refurbishment of a Mini dealership in Colchester for the Lind Automotive Group, a £500,000 extension to the Porsche Centre in Sutton Coldfield, a £3.5m new-build Mercedes-Benz showroom for Greenoaks of Ascot and a £2m new-build Land Rover dealership in Solihull for Stratstone.

“These contracts reflect an exceptionally busy and productive period for us,” says Neville Clements, managing director.
