Highlands and Islands Škoda dealer Delmore Cars of Inverness has started work on a new £1m development.

The two-acre site at Carse Industrial Estate will provide a seven-car showroom, offices and workshop for Delmore, which has run Škoda’s largest geographical territory (including the Hebrides and Orkneys) for 23 years.

Managing director Robert Osborn has engaged Inverness architect Herd Roland Associates to design the building. Main contractor is John Duncan Limited of Buckie.

Delmore’s general manager, Rob Mitchell, says the new site will help build on the company’s annual total of 300 new and 300 used sales. The garage previously held franchises for Proton and Suzuki.

Its current site, overlooking the Beauly Firth on the outskirts of Inverness, will be redeveloped for housing.
