The Retail Motor Industry Federation is advising its bodyshop members to consider changing energy suppliers in light of recent gas price increases.

Mike Owen, the RMIF’s aftermarket head, says: “Gas usage is particularly high in bodyshops - it’s an integral part of their activity during the painting process. Any extra strain on their bank balances could well push some businesses to the edge, so it is prudent for them to shop around for better energy deals.”

Bodyshops can obtain free advice on managing energy costs by contacting Energywatch, the independent gas and electricity watchdog, which recently launched a campaign to get a fairer deal for small businesses from energy suppliers.
