Kia is raising the prices of its Picanto, Rio diesel and Sportage.

The Korean manufacturer blamed the rises on the strengthening of its national currency (won), which had forced an increase in factory costs.

The Picanto’s price (apart from the Zapp special edition) will rise by £200, the Rio diesel derivative and the Sportage range both rise by £300.

As well as hiking up some of its model’s prices, Kia is offering additional free insurance deals and up to £2,000 cash back on selected models for Spring.

The Rio will come with one year’s free insurance on the 1.4 petrol version. The free cover is also included on the Picanto.

Kia’s Sorento comes with £2,000 cash back on both the XT and XS models.

The Sedona comes with £1,000 cash back on most of the range and £1,500 cash back on the SE+ model. The large MPV range will also have a free in car DVD player included in the offer.

Kia’s Cerato and mid-sized MPV Carens range both come with three years’ 0% finance.

Kia continues to offer free seven day drive away insurance and £1 deposit on all new cars.
