Seat’s new Altea FR model is available to order now, before it goes on sale in June, priced at £17,795 on-the-road.

The new model comes with a 168bhp TDI diesel engine to start with, while customers preferring a 198bhp TFSI petrol engine will be able to pre-order from June before it goes on sale in July.

Standard specification include ‘2 Zone’ climate control, six airbags, ESP (electronic stability programme), a six-speed gearbox, sports suspension, four electric windows, active head-restraints, diesel particulate filter and steering wheel-mounted audio controls.

The FR model adds redesigned front and rear bumpers, twin chrome exhaust pipes, exclusive 17-inch alloy wheels, silver-painted door mirrors and ‘FR’ badging over the normal Altea model. The interior is fitted with sport seats, embroidered with the FR logo. The motif also appears on the steering wheel and gear stick.
