Autotrade-mail.com, the UK internet used car trading service, is embarking on a business expansion to secure a major share of the used car dealer market.

The company plans to recruit 1,000 new subscribers this year, boosting its customer base by 40%.

Created in 1999 by ex-dealer Marcus Kelland, Autotrade-mail aims to deal with obtaining underwrites for unwanted part-exchanges. The South Coast-based business now has 25% of the franchised and specialist dealer market in the UK.

Sales managers specify on the website the exact make, mileage and age criteria of cars they are interested in sourcing. Vehicles that match these parameters are then emailed directly to their desks in real time.
