Car dealers no longer have to keep pre-registered cars for three months before selling them, the OFT has confirmed.

The decision came following discussions between the RMIF, the DVLA and the OFT earlier this year.

The National Franchise Dealer Association’s Alistair Manson said: "This is good news for our members who will no longer need to fund such vehicles for three months, and good news for customers who want to buy them." However, vehicles which are specifically pre-registered by the supplier in return for a financial bonus will still have wait three months before selling them.
