Manufacturers are putting retailers with van franchises under growing pressure to invest in facilities and suitably trained staff.

Failure to comply could result in them losing their right to sell light commercials and the franchise being offered to a dealership from another network.

Fiat has already warned that at least 20 of its dealers risk having their van franchises terminated due to under-performance. “Some car retailers are good at selling light commercial vehicles but a lot of them are poor at providing the aftersales support that LCV customers expect,” says UK commercial vehicles director, Kevin Henderson...(The full story is available in the June 30 issue of AM)
