Proton Cars UK has recruited 16 full dealers so far this year.

The new dealers are from across the country, as far and wide as Maud in Aberdeenshire, to Norwich.

Proton hopes to recruit a further 20 dealers before the end of the year. This will give it a total network of 90 dealers, a 40% increase on 2005.

Dealer principal Damian Dunne of new dealer West End Garage in Woking said: "We are excited about Proton’s future models and the proactive plans for growth. We recognise that Proton Cars are continuing to gain UK market share and look forward to our company expanding with them.

"I have personally been extremely impressed by Proton’s efficiency and speed during the recruitment process and have found it refreshing to be handled in such a competent manner."
