Toyota is to double production at its Chinese factory in Guangzhou to meet growing demand.

Annual production capacity at the plant will increase to 200,000 cars by then end of this year, and staff numbers will grow from 2,100 to 3,500.

Toyota could overtake General Motors as the world’s biggest carmaker if it reaches its production goal of more than nine million vehicles this year.
