How did you get in to the automotive business?
I did a finance degree at university and when I finished I saw an ad for the Ford graduate sales and marketing programme. I went for it because it sounded more exciting than working in financial services.

What does your job entail?
I’m responsible for sales, marketing, aftersales, logistics, press, PR and environmental affairs for Toyota in the UK.

How will your job change over the next few years?
Providing I stay in this role I think we will see further growth and more focus on the environment.

What advice would you give to young people planning to join the industry?
Be prepared for a challenge. It’s a really exciting industry and you should always be looking to do everything that little bit better.

Worst career move?
I’ve never made one.

At my 50th birthday party!

Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire by JK Rowling.

Favourite holiday
I’ve just returned from two weeks on the beach in Corsica with my wife and two children. It was the best holiday ever.
