Vehicles are marked with a unique code and 24 hour freephone number and entered in the Silent Security database. The register is linked to the DVLA database enabling each vehicle’s details to be checked for accuracy. The vehicle is then registered for the ownership confirmation service which helps police identify owners of recovered stolen vehicles and dealers can ring to confirm ownership of trade-in vehicles.
The company believes so strongly in its product’s effectiveness that it is offering a £1,500* compensation back to consumers if the protected vehicle is stolen and not recovered.
Kelvin Mangaroo, managing director of Silent Security, said: “Dealers receive an inexpensive, flexible product that takes less than two minutes to implement and can be integrated with other add-ons such as aftercare kits and extended warranties to enhance overall add-on profitability.”
(*Compensation is valid for one or two years dependent on the package purchased, and provided that the vehicle is protected against theft by vehicle identification marking, registered by Silent Security Ltd and that at the date of theft the vehicle is no older than five years from the date of manufacture.)
