Frost’s Cars has acquired City Motor Holding’s (CMH) Vauxhall dealership in Chichester.

The business is Frost’s fifth Vauxhall franchise on the south coast, in addition to its existing sites at Shoreham, Worthing, Newhaven and Haywards Heath.

William Frost, managing director at Frost’s Cars, told AM: “The deal should be completed by July 31 and we will take over running the business from August 1.”

He says that the 45 existing members of staff will be kept on, but that the business will trade under the name Frost’s Vauxhall.

Frost’s Cars currently has a turnover of £50m and it is hoped that the Chichester outlet will add a further £10m to this figure.

Frost says the company is always looking to expand but any acquisitions would have to “add value” to existing dealerships.

In the July 14 issue of AM it was revealed that CMH would be downsizing and the sale of Vauxhall, Chichester, is the first step.
