An increase in sales and range expansions has led Lucas Electrical to invest in a new 21,000sq ft warehouse for its Lucas Lighting and Mirrors division.

The facility is close to its existing office and 18,000sq ft warehouse in Hednesford. It replaces the company’s previous storage facility in Oxford.

Peter Whitehouse, head of Lucas Electrical Lighting and Mirrors, says this marks a milestone for the business. “It will not only enable us to further improve customer service levels, delivery efficiency and stock availability, but the additional capacity will also support our expansion plans to service a wider aftermarket audience,” he says.

“Because our complete programme will now be held in one location, we can ship out products from all of our lighting and mirror ranges in the same consignment. This makes ordering, deliveries and stock receipt much simpler, which will be a significant benefit to our customers.”

Lucas offers a comprehensive aftermarket range, covering 70% of the UK car parc for door mirrors and 75% for lighting. It also offers component-specific mirror spares, with replacement parts for 45% of the vehicle parc.
