Proton wants more dealers

Proton Cars welcomed 30 new dealers to its franchise in the UK, a rise of 50% taking its current portfolio to 90.

The Malaysian manufacturer is on the recruitment drive this year too, and wants to get at least 30 more new dealers.

Alex Junnier, sales manager at recently recruited dealer Williams Bridge in New Milton, Hampshire, said: “When we were considering other franchises, Proton struck us as a franchise with a good value for money product.

“As we decided to investigate further we had some very pleasant surprises along the way in everything from the manufacturer’s attitude as a whole, to the positive and speedy reaction to any enquiry by any member of their staff.

“My advice to any dealer considering the Proton franchise would be twofold; talk to others who have taken the franchise and a must is to drive the cars – both activities are a complete revelation.”
