Independent, family-owned dealer group Hatfields has extended its Jaguar representation, taking on the prestige franchise in Worcester.

The new showroom opened last week at the site on Ombersley Road, five minutes from junction six of the M5.

This will be the sixth Jaguar dealership in the Hatfields group, Worcester joins existing sites in Shrewsbury, Liverpool, Wakefield, Sheffield and Hull. In total Hatfields covers eight manufacturers across 16 locations.

In 2006 Hatfields’ acquisitions included three Hyundai sites, as well as a Chrysler Jeep Dodge business and the Jaguar dealership in Shrewsbury.

Gareth Williams, managing director of Hatfields, said: “We took on Jaguar Shrewsbury in April this year, and we have been very pleased with the results there. Though we are traditionally a northern-based business, we are ready to expand when strategic opportunities arise. We believe the Worcester site will complement our Shrewsbury dealership, and we are confident we can make a success of this latest acquisition.”

Trevor Wilcox, who formerly ran the Jaguar dealer HA Fox in Worcester, has been appointed as general manager of the new Hatfields outlet, with further recruitment due to be completed in the coming weeks.
