Kia has unveiled its new crossover concept at the Detroit Motor Show.

The all-wheel drive Kue CUV is powered by a 400bhp DOHC, supercharged 4.6-litre V8 engine, which Kia says is capable in town and off-road.

“Good design shouldn’t look like you are trying too hard,” said Tom Kearns, Kia Motors America chief designer. “The future Kia direction will incorporate the ‘less is more’ philosophy but still include a heavy dose of boldness to be distinct,” he added.

The Kue features custom built bucket seats, touch pad and motion sensing controls to adjust seating position and audio levels.

Although there are no direct plans to put the Kue into production, Kia did says that design cues would be merged its future model ideas.
