Nationwide, the UK crash repair service provider, has completed its acquisition of a bodyshop located in Matlock, Derbyshire for an undisclosed sum.

The company said the new site would increase its capacity in the midlands to support its recent contract wins with Norwich Union and Hastings Direct.

The acquisition is in line with the company’s growth strategy and is currently in negotiations to purchase additional sites.

Michael Wilmshurst, chief executive, said: "I believe the Matlock site represents an excellent fit with our current network and I am delighted to welcome the team on board.

"Our sector is undergoing considerable consolidation and Nationwide is well placed to capitalise on this opportunity. We continue to look for further bodyshops which fit our strategy to deploy work across Nationwide’s network of bodyshops in a way which allows for maximum efficiency and cost effectiveness."
