Vauxhall Motors is recalling 355,000 UK third generation three and five-door Corsas built between 2004 and 2006 and Combo van and Tigra models built between 2004 and 2008 to replace the ABS brake control unit.

The new fourth generation Corsas are not affected.

Vauxhall said the fault had been discovered after completing an investigation into thermal incidents with its models. It stated the affected cars were at “extremely low risk of a thermal incident’.

Customer will be advised by letter from December 14 to make an appointment at their their local dealership for a new ABS control unit and cover assembly free of charge. Vauxhall is contacting owners by letter from December 14 but has advised customers to continue running their cars as normal.
