Two thirds of insurance and accident management companies fully support the bodyshop Thatcham BSi Kitemark, according to a Auto Body Professionals Club (ABP) survey.

The two largest motor insurers RBS and Norwich Union have made the Kitemark mandatory for its approved repairer networks.

Other key insurers which fully support PAS125 but have not yet made it a requirement include RSA, Zurich, Allianz and Fortis. Zenith Insurance is the only insurer surveyed which does not support the standard.

Support from the accident management industry included WNS, Innovation Motorcare, FMG Support and MVRA.

The companies which endorsed the Kitemark account for over 85% of the accident management market.

Thirty work providers were surveyed by ABP to remove the apparent market confusion as to where each company stands in relation to the requirement for its network to achieve accreditation.
