BCA’s most recent sale at its Nottingham auction centre marked the used debuts of S-Max and new Galaxy.

One hundred and thirty two buyers registered for the sale with Ford dealers and approved independent buyers bidding strongly throughout. A variety of 150 Ford cars were offered, all of which sold for an average of 102.6% CAP Clean and a turnover of £1.4 million.

The sale was attended by Roelant de Waard, chairman and managing director of Ford of Britain.

With mileages averaging around 2,000, the 06-registered debut models performed strongly – the new Galaxy ranged in value from £15,100 to £21,900, with the S-Max selling from £15,000 to £18,700. Including options, the new Galaxy achieved 72.6% of current list price, with S-Max recording 78.8% of list.

Chris Shambrook, Ford’s auction manager, said: “This was an exceptional sale, well-presented by BCA, with strong bidding across the board from our diverse trade customers. Prices were very strong and the overall performance exceeded our own high residual value expectations.”

Alan Gupwell, BCA’s national remarketing manager added: "This sale saw strong bidding across the Ford model range with an excellent performance against CAP. The S-Max and Galaxy models made assured debuts, which suggest both will continue to sell strongly in the used market. Ford product is highly sought after at BCA and this clearly reflects the strong retail demand being reported by dealers.”
