Kia Motors UK has appointed automotive dismantlers Autogreen to manage its end of life vehicles (ELVs).

New European Union wide legislation introduced on January 1 requires the re-use and recovery of at least 85% by average weight for every end-of-life vehicle.

Kia said it will now be considering ELV process during the initial design stage of its future models.

Kia Motors has selected partners all across Europe who are able to ensure environmental protection when handling harmful substances and waste. This waste is to a great extent recovered and recycled to ensure the highest levels of environmental protection.

In the UK, Kia has appointed Autogreen to allow customers access to a free and environmentally friendly method to dispose of their vehicle. Autogreen’s network of authorised treatment facilities across the UK is controlled by a national call centre which directs Kia owners to their nearest automotive treatment facility.
