Škoda has appointed two new senior members to its business sales team in order to help the brand achieve recognition in the fleet market.

Rob English joins as national business sales manager, while Andy Thomas has been promoted to business relationship and development manager from his previous role as regional contract hire manager.

Martin Burke, head of business sales for Škoda UK, says it is Škoda’s aim to become the “most valued fleet manufacturer” in the fleet industry.

The Czech brand currently has a 1.7% share of the market, which it is aiming to increase, and its clients include Ikea, Caterham Cars and Mencap.

English previously worked for Audi, where he was national fleet sales manager.

Thomas will be responsible for managing the relationships between Škoda’s business sales department and the industry influencers and data providers. He will also oversee the development of new systems and processes to assist the carmaker’s fleet aspirations.
