Paul Philpott, managing director of Kia Motors (UK), has won an ‘Achiever’ award from Motor Industry Magazine, published by the Institute of the Motor Industry.

The awards, now in their third year, go to four individuals who, in the opinion of the judging panel headed by IMI chief executive Sarah Sillars, ‘have made an outstanding contribution to advancing the cause of excellence in the motor industry’.

Philpott, who joined Kia at the start of February, said: “I am honoured to receive this recognition, particularly because it is awarded by people within this amazing industry and to receive their applause is of special value. We all know how intense and keen the competition is in this business, so I am very proud to have made an impact amongst such very hard-to-impress people.”

In 2005 Philpott, a member of the IMI, also won AM’s Rising Stars award.
