DuPont Refinish is introducing a new basecoat waterborne range, Cromax, which is fully-compliant with 2007 VOC emissions legislation.

Another arm of the DuPont business has recently unveiled its own effort to help promote environmental sustainability. DuPont Refrigerants gave the first demonstration of its next generation, low global warming potential (GWP) refrigerant, DP-1, as part of its presentation at the recent European Automotive Air Conditioning Show in Frankfurt, Germany.

The DuPont Refrigerants team showed the first test car cooled with low GWP refrigerants. No changes were made to the demonstration vehicle’s existing MAC (mobile air conditioning) system in order for DP-1 to run.

Mark Baunchalk, global business manager, DuPont Refrigerants, said: "We are extremely pleased with the rapid progress of the DP-1 development. Testing continues to verify safe use and handling and we continue to optimise its performance, working with a growing number of vehicle manufacturers as well as MAC system suppliers to advance an innovative low GWP global solution to meet future EU FGas regulations."
