BCA’s Paddock Wood centre in Kent has increased its sales volume by 50% with the introduction of a regular Wednesday sale to complement the existing Tuesday and Friday sales days.

Now with three sales a week, Paddock Wood has increased its capacity to over 1,000 cars and LCV's a week.

Demand from both buyers and sellers for more ‘auction airtime’ resulted in the new Wednesday sale at Paddock Wood, which went live in February.

Around 350 vehicles are offered on the new sales day, with sales sections from Frosts Group, Motorline Group and Whitehouse Group featuring and a new weekly LCV sale, which was previously held fortnightly.

There were spot prizes throughout the first Wednesday sale and over £800 raised for BEN, the automotive charity, thanks to donations by Frosts and Whitehouse. Over 80% of the 350-strong entry of cars and commercials sold on the day.

BCA’s UK operations director, Simon Henstock, said: “The Home Counties are generating noticeably more demand from buyers and we have seen dramatically increased footfall not just in Paddock Wood, but also at Enfield, and reaching up the A1 corridor to Bedford and Peterborough and west across to Blackbushe. Adding the Wednesday sale schedule to Paddock Wood has acted as a pressure valve and allowed that pent-up demand to be satisfied.”

BCA has also announced plans for the complete re-development of the Paddock Wood site, one of the older facilities in BCA’s network, using land adjacent to the current site. The multi-million pound project is currently at the design stage.
