JCT600 has acquired its second Bentley dealership in a £3m deal from Inchcape.

Bentley Newcastle joins the privately-owned dealer group’s other Bentley dealership in Leeds and its 42 franchised outlets throughout the north of England.

Based on Silverlink Business Park in Newcastle, the new acquisition will earn the group between £25 and £30m in annual turnover and push its Bentley sales to 200 units this year. This represents 10% of all expected UK Bentley sales.

John Tordoff, JCT600 chief executive, said: “We already have a well established foothold in the luxury car market in the north-east through our Porsche dealership in Newcastle and have been looking to expand in the region for some time.

“Bentley Newcastle gives us the perfect opportunity to consolidate our position in the area while enabling us to maximise the benefits of having two Bentley dealerships in adjoining territories.”

Paul Gudge, general manager, and his sales and aftersales team have all been retained and the dealership will become part of JCT600’s ‘specialist cars’ division headed by David Clapham.

JCT600 said it was not looking to acquire any more of Inchcape’s remaining dealerships ‘at the moment’. Inchcape announced in March that it wanted to dispose of 47 UK sites to fuel an expansion into 10 international territories over the next five years.
