Renault-owned dealer network Reagroup has begun a multi-million pound redevelopment and expansion programme aimed at boosting its new and used car operations.

The group recently added the former Lewis Reed Renault dealership in Birkenhead and new sites in Bolton and Cannock to its network, bringing the total to 22. It has also invested in refurbishing its existing dealerships in Liverpool and Wolverhampton.

Reagroup also has plans to expand its Autoworld used car brand, with plans to acquire a further six sites across the UK shortly.

Its used car operations are currently based at its only existing site in Willenhall, near Wolverhampton, and the first new site is set to open in mid-2008.

The group hopes to integrate the used car business with its dealership network, which will provide stock from part exchanges. Ex-fleet stock will also be bought in.

Reagroup managing director Ian Plummer said: “This programme fits perfectly with our aim to fully develop our sales and aftersales representation.”
