BCA has revealed increased used convertible prices despite the wet May weather in the UK.

Average prices for a typical three-year old, 30,000 mile convertible sold at BCA increased by £339 (2.4%) to £13,718 in the first three months of this year.

Simon Henstock, BCA’s network operations director, said: “Values for convertibles are more seasonal than other models with prices rising in line with the temperature.”

Despite notoriously changeable weather, British motorists buy more convertibles than any of their continental cousins.

“Recent specialist convertibles sales at BCA attracted hundreds of buyers and were near total sell-outs.

“This illustrates just how popular open tops are for used car buyers, especially when summer’s just around the corner. With plenty of demand from buyers, we’re expecting prices for convertibles to remain high. And they could stay high all summer if the weather forecasters’ promise of a long, hot summer comes true,” added Henstock.
