Ford has quashed rumours that it is in talks about selling off its Swedish brand Volvo.

The manufacturing giant has been reported in the weekend newspapers as making the decision to sell in the last two weeks, but hasn’t decided on a date.

A Ford spokesman said: "To my knowledge we are not in any negations about the future of Volvo."

The rumours follow reports last week that Ford was looking to offload its other PAG brands, Jaguar and Land Rover.

The carmaker admitted it was strategically reviewing Jaguar and Land Rover and was in talks with a third party for a sale.

“At this stage we are not ruling anything in or anything out,” added a Ford spokesperson. Ford already sold its luxury sports marque Aston Martin for £416 in March.
