Bids for parts of Dixon Motors' business have been received by BDO Stoy Hayward, according to manufacturers.

The receivers set an early deadline for prospective bidders. Dixon’s went into receivership on Friday at 12pm and interested dealers had until Monday lunchtime to place a bid.

BDO was not willing to comment on which dealer groups have made the bids.

A Vauxhall spokesperson said: "It's existing Vauxhall franchise holders that have made offers, but we don't know which ones will be successful. We hope to keep all of the sites open."

It has also been confirmed that bids for Dixon's Ford and Citroen sites have been received.

Administrators were appointed at the request of Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS) last week. RBS owns a significant stake in Dixon, thought to be approximately 20%.
