Lookers has acquired Dixon Motors’ Ford site in Sheffield for an undisclosed sum.

The company expects to re-employ ‘a significant number’ of the original dealership staff that were made redundant when Dixon went into administration in July.

Ken Surgenor, chief executive of Lookers, said: "We are delighted to have been approved to represent Ford.

"The introduction of Ford into our portfolio complements our existing mix of volume and prestige brands. We look forward to working with them to expand our representation of the Ford brand in the UK."
