Matt Khalili has sold his one thousandth Mini at Blue Bell Mini in Crewe.

Khalili joined Blue Bell straight from college and started working for the company just as the Mini was launched in 2001.

"I'm one of the longest-serving Blue Bell Mini staff, so I suppose I have something of an advantage - but it was a really good feeling to see that ledger move from 999 to 1,000 Mini sales," said Khalili.

"Demand has simply never backed off - but I cannot recall two cars of all the 1,000 that I've sold as being the same specification. People love Minis because they can make them suit their personality," he added.

Sue Brownson OBE, managing director of Blue Bell, said: "Khalili is highly representative of the typical team member at Blue Bell.

"He was welcomed into the family six years ago, and has achieved a major milestone by completing 1,000 Mini sales. He deserves huge congratulations for his loyalty, commitment and quality of customer service."

Blue Bell, which opened in 1990, currently employs 90 people in Crewe.
