A dealership valeter has been jailed this week for dangerous driving after he took a car from the forecourt and drove it at a manager.

Inderjit Singh Kandola, of Ethel Road, Leicester, was working at Reg Vardy Alfa Romeo in Leicester in 2001 when the incident happened.

He took a vehicle, and when asked to get out by a manager, turned round in a cul-de-sac and drove it towards the manager who stood in the road. The manager was forced to jump out of the way, reported the Leicester Mercury.

Kandola was originally due for sentencing in June 2002 but jumped bail.

Police re-arrested him last month.
