Black Horse comment: Determination bears fruit with warranty plan

When we mentioned the Black Horse Motor Warranty in partnership with Car Care Plan, we described it as “more than just another warranty product”.

Some within the motor industry may have felt we were indulging in marketing spin, but we were determined to live up to the expectations our claim created.

And now, just over two years later, both we and Car Care Plan can see that our joint determination has borne fruit.

Since April of 2005, more than 1,300 dealers have signed up to the programme, in excess of £2 million has been paid out in claims, and sales of the warranties with extensive parts cover have grown each month this year, and are continuing to do so.

What are the reasons for the success of the Black Horse Motor Warranty? One is that, in our respective fields, both Black Horse and CCP are market leaders, and with that comes professionalism, expertise, and confidence amongst dealers and the buying public.

Secondly, the programme was launched following extensive research which enabled us to respond to the needs of the post-FSA regulations market. Dealers wanted a product and brand they could trust, from a proven supplier.

Thirdly, the Black Horse Motor Warranty delivers what it says on the tin. No mealy-mouthed small print providing get-out clauses, total fairness in dealing with claims, and speedy settlement.

Two years on from the launch, the programme continues to be a hit with dealers and the car-buying public alike.

It delivers what we demanded of it from the very beginning, and that was to be more than just another warranty product. Together with our partner, Car Care Plan, we are continuing to provide dealers, and their customers, with a robust and competitively-priced product that has been developed specifically for their market.

I’m confident this product will continue to present dealers with a genuine profit opportunity.
