Vertu Motors has appointed a new managing director to develop its Motor Nation used car supermarkets.

Michael Breen will be responsible for the current Motor Nation portfolio of three used car super- markets in Birmingham, Coventry and Widnes in Cheshire.

Breen was previously a general manager at Durham Renault before progressing to a regional director role within Evans Halshaw.

Motor Nation was acquired by Vertu Motors in March 2007 as part of the acquisition of Bristol Street Motors.

In 2007, three new general managers have been appointed to oversee the Motor Nation businesses: Martin Bradburn at Birmingham, Chris Reidy at Coventry and Paul Gibbin at Widnes.

Steve Ferry, sales and marketing director of Vertu Motors, said: “Michael has always impressed everyone he has come into contact with for his commitment, professionalism and in depth knowledge of used car operations.

“He is a young and dynamic leader to take Motor Nation forward.”

Vertu said it intends to develop the Motor Nation brand and format over the next few years through the development of a number of new locations in the United Kingdom.
