Cardiff and Newport Volkswagen has been named as one of the Hot 100 fastest-growing enterprises in Wales.

At £30m, the firm has the highest turnover out of the 100 rising stars of Welsh business, as shown in the research carried out by the University of Glamorgan Business School.

David Pugh-Jones built the £4m Cardiff Volkswagen Centre after being awarded the franchise in 2003. The group then acquired the former Hartwell premises in Newport and created the Newport Volkswagen Centre.

“Obviously the strength and value of the Volkswagen brand, their range of cars, commercial and recreational vehicles has been a major factor in our success,” he said. “But they key to success is the quality of customer service.”

The group has just been awarded the TPS franchise to supply spare parts to other motor traders and repairers for Audi, Seat and Skoda, as well as Volkswagen cars and LCVs in the region.
