Motorpoint has finished the £100,000 refurbishment of its Newport site in South Wales.

The 10-acre facility now has an open-plan reception as well as a refreshment and seating area. The showroom has also been extended to house 500 new and used vehicles.

David Shelton, managing director at Motorpoint, told AM that the expansion “could contribute as many as 300 to 350 cars per week at maturity”, taking the group closer to its annual sales target of 47,000 units for 2007.

“We are continually looking at ways to improve the Motorpoint customer experience and South Wales has always been a key market for us,” Sheldon said. “The revised premises will allow us to continue to deliver first-class service, whilst offering a large range of new and used vehicles at very competitive prices.”

Motorpoint has outlets in Derby, Burnley, Glasgow, Newport and Peterborough. Shelton said the group is involved in negotiations for new sites and the plan is for a sixth dealership to open in a year.
