Nissan has joined forces with Akzo Nobel to introduce a paint warranty training programme across its dealer network next month.

The programme has been specifically designed to help customer-facing dealer staff answer questions about warranty queries.

Akzo Nobel staff will explain how to assess a customer’s problem and determine if it could be warranty work or driver fault.

George Sneddon, Akzo field technical manager, and Richard Singleton, technical service manager, will be holding workshops across the UK which will explain to Nissan dealer staff the different paint damage problems found on vehicles.

Akzo has also developed a reference manual with Nissan that will be given out to dealers at the workshops.

Ian Munton, warranty manager at Nissan, said: “The dealer network will be in a better position to advise customers of the appropriate action to remedy their concern.”
