How did you get into the automotive business?
I was accepted for Ford’s zone manager training scheme.

What does your job entail?
Working cross-company with fleet, marketing and aftersales colleagues, with fleet customers directly and with our dealer network.

How will your job change over the next few years?
The biggest change will come through the unprecedented level of new commercial vehicle launches for Nissan GB over the next three years.

Other jobs?
Six years as an Army officer, six years at Ford and 14 years at LDV as sales and marketing director.

What advice would you give to young people joining the industry?
Think very clearly about what area of automotive you would like to join.

What’s the worst career move you’ve ever made?
I don’t think I have made a move yet that I haven’t enjoyed.

Clearly the role at Nissan.

Where do you see yourself in 10 years’ time?
I would have liked to experience everything Nissan has to offer.
