GM Motors Europe opens plant in Russia

General Motors Europe has opened its first Russian plant.

The governor of St Petersburg, Valentina Matviyenko and GM Motors Europe’s president Carl Forster unveiled the £192, 000, 000 project in the city yesterday.

The first models to be produced there will be the Chevrolet Captiva and Opel Antara while production of the Chevrolet Cruze is due to start by mid 2009.
