Fiat UK is launching a new advertising campaign for mobile phones starting this week to promote its 500 city car and eco:Drive fuel saving programme.

The campaign will last six weeks and will see Fiat link up with MSN, Sky and SnapNow, the mobile visual search service.

Customers will be able to take pictures of any of Fiat’s national press adverts on their mobile phones and picture recognition technology will then send back details to the customer’s mobile phone.

The campaign will also be the first to run on Sky’s mobile site which will route customers straight through to the Fiat 500 WAP site. The animated banner will also be on MSN’s mobile site.

Elena Bernardelli, marketing director Fiat UK, said: “This is an exciting development for us.

“We will be making more of the Fiat 500 and eco:Drive with these interactive adverts, and the technology we are offering in our products is reflected in the technology of the marketing methods we are using.”
