Tata Motors is apparently working on a new platform for Land Rover to boost sales for the company.

The new design is aimed at winning defence orders from Europe, China, Russia and India.

According to website Business Standard managing director of Tata Motors Ravi Kant said the company had plans for the defence sector and are looking to win defence orders from overseas and India.

Land Rover has recently shed about 600 jobs in the UK with the new platform seen as a possible way of reviving the company’s sales.

Tata Motors has so far supplied more than 10,000 vehicles to the Indian Military and paramilitary forces.
