How did you get into the automotive business?
Started selling cars in north London. It was at the time of the three-day week because of power cuts and business was very difficult. I went into sales training through working for the manufacturers, then running dealerships and then a group.

What does your job entail?
Setting up the sales operation of Liberty Electric Cars.

How will your job change over the next few years?
It will get really exciting when we are producing cars next year. There is enormous interest from all over the world. Electric cars are about to come of age.

What advice would you give to young people joining the industry?
Get a good education and then join a company committed to training. Work hard and be prepared to be flexible.

What’s the worst career move you’ve ever made?
Working as a grave digger during Easter school holidays.
