How did you get in to the automotive business?
This is my first role in automotive having previously been with companies such as Greene King, Kingfisher and Sears.

What does your job entail?
Ensuring that Ford Retail’s HR objectives and strategy directly supports the corporate goals.

How will your job change over the next few years?
As the company matures and grows, the HR challenges will evolve and mature alongside.

Other jobs you’ve had?
Senior management coach to board level executives. My specialist area was in the leisure services sector. Regional HR and specialist HR roles as well as marketing and HR director positions for a high-street fashion chain and HR director in large multi-site businesses.

What advice would you give to young people joining the industry?
Lots of challenges and lots of opportunities for those prepared to ‘go for it’. Make sure you take advantage of any learning opportunities.

What’s the worst career move you’ve ever made?
I’ve been lucky and had great jobs with great companies.

Ford Retail!

Playing a lot more golf!
