Fleet finance provider Fleet Alliance wants to double the number of franchised dealers in its Affinity Partners programme this year.

The Glasgow-based company, which has seen a 44% growth in business in the last 12 months, currently manages about 7,000 vehicles and will deliver around 4,500 new cars this year.

And in preparation for further growth, it is looking to appoint franchised dealers, typically independent dealer groups with two or three outlets, who will use Fleet Alliance as a finance arm.

It already has partnerships with around 45 dealers of various franchises and is looking to recruit a similar number over the coming year.

Managing director Martin Brown said the new recruits are necessary as he wants Fleet Alliance to be ordering and managing 8,000 vehicles a year by 2012.

Allied dealers are offered a complete portfolio of finance products, including contract hire, PCPs, personal contract hire and contract purchase.

Brown said these are allied to very keen pricing due to the buying terms and manufacturer discounts through relationships Fleet Alliance has spent many years developing.

Dealers also get back office support and systems for vehicle ordering, processing and administration, and can access a complete range of bolt-on products, such as daily rental and the service, maintenance and repair system which includes the ability to book vehicle services online.

Sales through the Affinity Partners programme have increased by 60% in the last 12 months, and Fleet Alliance is now looking to recruit more partners to help realise its ambitious expansion plans to effectively double the size of the business.

Brown said: “We are always willing to talk to people or businesses that have demonstrated a proven ability to win new business and create new relationships.”
