Helphire hire cases have increased by 25% in the first quarter of 2008, compared to the same period last year.

However, growth has slowed compared to the second half of last year.

Repair cases have also increased by 29%.

The average age of debt has reduced by 8% to 248 days but the group’s net indebtnedess has risen by £10m to £161.3m from last quarter.

The credit hire provider said it is confident that profit for the year to 30 June 2008 will be in line with market foreceasts.
