Forté, the additives company behind the Good Garage Scheme, has announced a £1 million investment to help independent workshop members establish the brand.

Launched 18 months ago for garages selling Forté’s lubrication treatments and flushes, the scheme has more than 2,356 members.

Forté markets it as a mark of quality for independent garages across the UK, with members complying to a code of practice and industry standard service.

All members are required to sell Forté products.

“Our members are gaining from the branding that the scheme provides as well as the value-added benefits such as discounted commercial insurance and free legal support,” said Angelo Chillari, scheme administrator.

The scheme is not connected to the short-lived plan of the RMIF for a similarly-named nationwide initiative some years ago.
